PHOTO QUALITY IS SHIT, SO THE COLOURS LOOK DARKER THAN THEY ACTUALLY ARE. SORRY.

Yeah...I meant to take these pictures earlier this morning, but then I found out that all my spare camera batteries were conveniently dead, so I had to wait for them to charge...then I went to ~Averylilith's house and it was like 6:45 by the time I took these photos. So the lighting was crap. So the quality is crap. I'll try to take some better quality pictures later, but I was really eager to get these up.

I started a little over a week ago and finished on Saturday. I know that you can see my ultra-messy seams and that she's kind of lopsided, but considering the fact that a) I haven't sewed anything like this in three years and b) I didn't know how to backstitch until recently...or ladder stitch...which are the only two stitches I needed to know for this... oh, and c) I hand-sewed the whole thing.

But yeah, I'm super proud of this. I want to redo her mouth in a darker colour though. She's sort of going like : but you can't see it that well.

That's totally not my thumb in the front view picture :iconliarjackplz:

Her apron is sewn loosely to her body. The cape can be untied, but I stitched her crest into it, so you can't take it off completely. Her glasses are the wrong colour (they look fine in the picture, but they're actually sparkly pink rather than deep purple), but I couldn't find coloured craft wire, so I went with the closest colour of pipe cleaner I could find.

Since winter just ended, I was able to get the material really cheap. She's made of fleece. I got half a metre of fleece in total for less than six dollars and since my mom and I overestimated when converting yards into metres, I have a shitton of fabric left over...I could probably make another Sugar Pie if I wanted to.

My parents, even though they don't get my pony obsession, both thought she was really good, although my dad thought that she was a male and that her forelock was "a special hat with a hole for his horn". Either way, I'm happy with her. I want to hug her forever!

Thank you so much to :iconvoodoo-tiki: for sharing your lovely pattern: [link] and your instructions: [link] I originally wanted to make my own pattern by altering the unicorn Stanwood sewing kit pattern, but I couldn't find it on their website and I probably wouldn't have been able to afford it anyway.

Thank you also to :iconbeezee-art: for sharing your wisdom on horns: [link] I didn't spiral this one, but you did help me to sew it, and your mini-tutorial on attaching the horns was insanely helpful.

Incredibly long description is over. Thanks for reading.
